I. Is Titleist TSi3 Fairway Wood Worth it?

The Titleist TSi3 Fairway Wood offers a compelling option for mid-low handicappers seeking performance and customization. 

With its attractive design, the club presents an appealing visual package. The extensive adjustability it provides ensures that players can fine-tune the club’s characteristics to suit their individual preferences and swings, catering to a range of skill levels. 

Moreover, the enhanced ball speed can contribute to increased distances off the tee and fairway, potentially enhancing overall performance.

II. My experience review with Titleist TSi3 Fairway Wood

You know how the golf industry keeps churning out new clubs every month? Well, that hype sure gets us curious golfers testing them out. I’d tried the TSi2 driver and TSi2 hybrid, and they gave me a decent run, so the craving to give the TSi3 Fairway Wood a whirl was real. 

With the first swing, I noticed the address was smooth, and I felt a bit of that “extra something” even before I teed off. I decided to put the 3-wood through fairways for a couple of rounds and really dig into its capabilities with a variety of shots.

The club got me maximum distance. I got solid yardage gains on every swing. The ball was leaving the clubface with a zip, translating to some seriously extra yards. 

I’m no tour pro, and I’ve got my fair share of mishits. With that said, while the TSi3 Fairway Wood does offer some forgiveness, it’s not entirely on par with the forgiveness you’d find in the TSi2 model. 

To break it down, the TSi2 seems to cater more towards high handicappers who prioritize forgiveness, while the TSi3 is better suited for mid-low handicappers who are looking for added distance with a balanced level of forgiveness.

To thoroughly analyze my shot statistics, I paired the club with a launch monitor to delve into the details. Here’s a breakdown of the average test statistics I documented:

The ball speed of the TSi3 immediately captured my attention. It was good to observe its consistent generation of such speed. Upon swinging, the ball took off with velocity, and I could sense the clubface’s responsiveness contributing to this rapid acceleration.

An 11.2-degree launch angle introduced a refined level of trajectory control to my shots. The TSi3 appeared to have a keen understanding of how to elevate the ball optimally, striking a balance between distance and controlled descent, which is particularly beneficial for greenside approaches.

The backspin fell within an ideal range for me. It found the right harmony between generating lift and preventing excessive spin that could potentially compromise control. This harmonious combination effectively maintained the power and precision of my shots.

A side angle of -2.3 degrees, indicating a slight draw tendency, provided some additional yardage off the tee and fairway. While not a drastic curve, this slight draw seemed to be the TSi3’s way of contributing some extra distance.

Achieving an average carry distance of 280 yards brought a satisfying feeling. The TSi3 demonstrated its capability to translate my swings into decent yardage without difficulty. 

Matching the carry distance with a total distance of 294 yards underscored the TSi3’s capacity to add extra roll and rollout. Witnessing this yardage steadily increase after the ball’s landing was indeed gratifying.

The Titleist TSi3 Fairway Wood demonstrated its ability to produce significant distances. The ball’s launch off the clubface felt faster, resulting in added yardage. 

This improved distance was a result of purposefully employing advanced materials and innovative technology in the club’s design. These factors collaborated to maintain consistent ball speed across the clubface, resulting in the desired longer shots that golfers strive for.

2. Forgiveness (Score 8/10)

While it might not offer the highest level of forgiveness available, it strikes a balance that resonated with my playing style. However, if forgiveness is your preference, then you should opt for the TSi2 fairway wood over the TSi3.

Through my hands, the club offered a mix of responsiveness and feedback, helping me gauge my swings and make adjustments on the fly.
