I. Is Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood worth it? 

The Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood boasts an aesthetically appealing design, making it visually attractive. Its advanced features, including the Active Recoil Channel and Optimized Weight Distribution, significantly enhance forgiveness and elevate the dynamics of your shots.

In terms of performance, this fairway wood excels and proves particularly beneficial for mid-handicappers. However, extended use of this club may lead to visible wear and tear on the clubface, rendering it susceptible to marking.

II. My Experience with Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood 

In my quest for a fairway wood with decent performance in all aspects, the name Titleist Tsi2 surfaced as a prominent choice. I had the opportunity to test the TSi2 Fairway Wood, featuring the Fujikura Pro 7X shaft, out on the course.

For the off-the-tee testing, I opted for the Titleist fitting of a 15-degree head adjusted to 0.75. I typically prefer a slightly lower loft with an open and flat setup, but this configuration appeared more neutral. This adjustment provided the advantage of increased ball speed and added firepower to my shots.

The TSi2 Fairway Wood demonstrated a powerful flight and effortless distance. Even those shots that made contact slightly high on the face achieved quite a substantial launch and maintained good spin.

Hitting off the deck, TSi2 Fairway Wood allowed me to maintain control over my swing speed. The launch and spin remained consistently in that sweet spot. 

Even on those shots where I would typically experience a drop in ball speed due to a slight mis-hit, the TSi2 managed to maintain good ball speed. This led to a more consistent face performance, with reduced spin.

The Backspin, at 3226 rpm, ensured the ball held its line and landed softly, adding both accuracy and consistency to my shots. In terms of carry distance, the TSi2 didn’t disappoint, offering a considerable distance of 267 yards. This feature allowed me to clear substantial distances, setting up shorter approach shots.

The total distance of 285 yards showcased the club’s ability to send the ball far down the fairway and also ensured it kept rolling for that extra yardage, making it feel like hitting a perfect drive every time.

III. In Terms of Performance Factors

Here is the breakdown of Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood in terms of various performance factors:

1. Distance – 10/10

I usually face challenges with fairway woods due to the inconsistent strike locations, but the TSi2 helped me achieve consistency in both distances and flights.

It prioritized both hitting the ball and launching it with authority. Whether I was seeking additional yardage off the tee or aiming to attack the pin from the fairway, this club delivered the needed result.

Moreover, this fairway wood ensured accuracy, irrespective of where contact was made on the clubface.

2. Forgiveness – 9/10

The Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood proved to be a versatile and forgiving club during my rounds. The generous face and club head profile allowed me room for error, ensuring confidence even on slightly off-center shots. 

The variable face thickness architecture also acted as a safety net for minor mis-hits, maintaining consistency in trajectory and distance. The club’s deeper and lower fixed center of gravity was a valuable feature, especially when my ball striking was inconsistent.

Despite the focus on forgiveness, the TSi2 didn’t sacrifice performance. It delivered a higher launch with mid-spin, striking the perfect balance between forgiveness and playability.

3. Playability – 8/10

The Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood playability was quite satisfactory. The club delivered precisely what I desired, providing a level of control and predictability that felt almost intuitive. The ball flight, in particular, allowed me to extract additional yardage when needed, particularly on longer approach shots. 

Typically, striking a fairway wood off the bottom results in a significant loss of performance. Nonetheless, with the TSi2, there was a good level of forgiveness on these slightly mis-hit shots. 

However, the ball flight tended to be on the higher side, which was not to my preferences.

4. Looks – 9/10

The classic Titleist shape exudes a sense of confidence and familiarity. The club has a subtle visual appeal with the modern TSi alignment stamp on the crown. It represents a blend of tradition and innovation, adding a contemporary touch to a time-honored design. 

When addressing the ball with the TSi2, I noticed the softer toe profile and its slightly squared appearance. This design is a nod to feedback from Tour players, infusing the club with a touch of professional-level aesthetics.

However, the club face is prone to acquiring marks easily, necessitating caution in its usage for players. 

5. Sound & Feel – 9/10

The Titleist TSi2 Fairway Wood offered a great sensory experience. The feel-through impact was both powerful and precise, creating a connection between me and the club. 

The contact sound strikes the perfect balance, providing feedback without being too dull. This feeling instilled confidence in me, making it clear that I don’t need to swing with excessive force to achieve the desired ball flight.
