My experience review with Cleveland Launcher CBX Irons

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Cleveland Launcher CBX Irons on the golf course. I decided to see how these irons would perform in terms of playing different types of shots.

I found that the cavity back design and perimeter weighting provided a forgiving and consistent experience, even on off-center hits. The V-shaped sole design also proved helpful for interacting with the turf and allowed me to hit clean shots from difficult lies.

One particularly noteworthy aspect was the versatility of these irons. The mid-to-high ball flight and distance control allowed me to hit high, soft, and low penetrating shots comfortably. This made it much easier to adapt to different course conditions and situations.

My Test Stats

To further analyze how the Cleveland Launcher CBX irons perform, I conducted a test session in a simulator room with a launch monitor. I usually carry 6-iron and 8-iron in my bag, so this is the combination that I tested.

So, I first tested Cleveland Launcher CBX 6-iron, and I was able to generate a ball speed of 130.2 mph and a launch angle of 15.8 degrees. The club’s added forgiveness allowed a slight side angle of 1.3 degrees to the right without affecting the shot’s placement.

The backspin rate of 4130 rpm allowed for a quick stop upon landing, and the peak height of 32 yards provided ample height to clear any obstacles. The 6-iron carried the ball 200 yards and had a total distance of 214 yards.

Moving on to the 8 iron,  I achieved a ball speed of 113.8 mph and a launch angle of 20.6 degrees. The higher launch angle allowed for the ball to land softly on the green. Despite a slight side angle of 1.7 degrees to the right, the shot ended up in a good position.
